Attended an inspiring event today.
Today, I had a wonderful opportunity to attend an inspiring event on Jammu and Kashmir @ ISB. First of all I met an inspiring lady Mrs. Rukhsana Kusar ,she is an India’s Kirti Chakra Awardee from Rajori Jammu. It was on Sunday night at around 9:30 pm, 27 September 2009, three militants came to their house and knocked the door. Rukhsana fought with an axe and hit the L.T commander on his head One of the militant opened fire, injuring his uncle Waqalat Hussain
in his arm. Other family members joined Rukhsana in attacking the militants. Rukhsana picked up the commander’s AK47 rifle,
retrieved another from the other militant, and threw it to her brother. Rukhsana shot the commander, killed him, then she and her brother fired on the other militants, forcing them to flee.
Then I met Mr. Harinder Sikka, he is Ex-LT. Commander, Journalist, author and film maker. One of his famous book is “Calling Sehmat” You may recall recent hit movie RAZI is based on this book. The Sehmat’s role is played by Alia Bhatt. I had an wonderful feeling after hearing his talk.
Then I met famous Telugu number one Radio Jockey Shekar Basha of (BIG-FM). I had a very detailed discussion with him about KP exodus. He is ready to bring KP’s exodus story on Big-FM show. I need few KP volunteers who can speak Telugu then we can plan to do the live show on BIG-FM
Finally I had a very quick standing meeting with an politician Dr. Jitendra Singh, MoS for PMO. I asked him the following three requests on behalf of Kashmiri Pandits.
- Recognize the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.
- Change our official status as refugees or internally displaced people, because we are not migrants.
- Allocate 2-MP seats to Kashmiri Pandits, as recently 2-MP reserved seats for Anglo Indian were abolished.
He only said our government is working strategically for Kashmiri Pandits all concerns. Regarding MP seats for KP’s, he mentioned that this needs to be discussed in Parliament.
Hence I request all KP’s please send letters to MOH (Amit shah) and PMO about allocating reserved Anglo- Indian 2-MP seats to Kashmiri Pandits so that they can be represented in Indian Parliament.
