Maagh Punyim / Kaaw Punyim poshte saarni. Let us gather together at 6 pm today and celebrate this festival together. This was the last festival we celebrated in-person last year and it was so much fun. We were exploring organizing this again in-person this year, but the covid cases started rising again, so let’s stick to virtual meeting 🙂
We will have a good conversation with our elder community stalwart – Pt. Mohan Lal Bhan ji, on the significance and practice of Kaaw Punyim. This will be really useful for us to connect back to our roots and ensure our next generation understands our rituals and takes them forward. So, please do join with family to enjoy and learn.
We will also have a Kaaw Bhatto Kaawo recital competition. Please come forward and recite the rhyme/song. Best recitals will get prizes too 🙂 There is no age limit to participating. Anybody can participate and recite. Also, there are many variations of the rhyme/song (tune, words, etc). Please recite any variation. Would be awesome to hear multiple variations. Please do come forward to recite, and also encourage your family members to do the same 🙂
Also, please do make your own Kaaw Patlu (if you can). There will be an opportunity to show your Kaaw Patlu to others, which will be another way to bond among ourselves.
Please do join in the evening today. Here are the details for joining:
