Press Release – 10th June 2020 – For Condemning Brutal Killing of Ajay Pandita

KHST (Kashmiri Hindu Sabha Telangana) strongly condemns the cold blooded and barbaric murder of Shri Ajay Pandita, Sarpanch Halqa Loknhawan District Anantnag on June 8th 2020.

Mr Ajay Pandita was one among those few Kashmiri Pandits who dared to return to valley after 7 years of exodus and lived there for last 23 years despite the hardships and life threats. He was a staunch patriot who dedicated himself in serving the humanity.

He was elected as a sarpanch in recently held panchayat elections and was not only representing local Muslims but also was the lone voice of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir.

The Kashmiri Pandit community has been targeted time and again by the gun wielding terrorists even after being forcibly evicted from their homeland in 1990. This gruesome murder is yet again an eye opener that the cohabitation of non-Muslims in valley doesn’t suit the agenda of the fundamentalists in the valley despite center’s assurances.

This targeted daylight murder once again proves the murderous intentions of terrorists and fundamentalist section of locals who openly
challange the government against the return of Kashmiri Pandits with respect and dignity back to valley.

KHST demands speedy justice for the bereaved family and urges the Central Government through Governor to conduct a time bound high level investigation through an independent agency to bring the perpetrators to book. We also demand from the Governor for an adequate compensation and a suitable government job for the next of the kin of the deceased.
