Kashmiri pandits living in the city celebrated the abrogation of Article 370 by the central government, at Durgam Cheruvu on Monday. A member of JK Study Centre, speaking to The Hans India, said they were very happy as the BJP government cancelled the Article 370, which no other previous government dared. Advertise With Us Rahul, a member of Kashmiri Hindu Sabha, said, “The day would go down as a landmark day. Kashmiri pandits have been waiting for this momentous occasion for ages.” Echoing a similar sentiment, Divya said, “Several Kashmiri pandits who have been displaced now have hope. One hopes to go back to the valley. We are overwhelmed.” They hoped that the decision would help in addressing most of the problems that Kashmiris have been facing for the last 70 years. The business in J&K would improve due to growth in corporate investments and rate of unemployment would come down, he said. Members of Kashmiri Hindu Sabha and JK Study Centre Vijayalakshmi, Rahul, Dr Rishita and others participated in the celebrations.
